Miyazaki prefecture is located on the island of Kyūshū, with the division of 26 municipalities including 9 cities, 14 towns and 3 villages. Miyazaki is the capital and largest city of Miyazaki prefecture with a population of 398 thousand in 2021. The neighboring prefectures are Ōita Prefecture to the north, Kumamoto Prefecture to the northwest, and Kagoshima Prefecture to the southwest.
- The 9 cities are Ebino City, Hyuga City, Kobayashi City, Kushima City, Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki City, Nichinan City, Nobeoka City, and Saito City.
- The 14 towns are Aya-cho, Gokase-cho, Hinokage-cho, Kadokawa-cho, Kawaminami-cho, Kijo-cho, Kunitomi-cho, Mimata-cho, Misato-cho, Shintomi-cho, Takachiho-cho, Takaharu-cho, Takanabe-cho, and Tono-cho.
