Miyagi prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located in the Tōhoku region of Honshu, with the division of 35 municipalities: 13 cities including the designated city (Sendai city with 5 wards ), 21 towns and 1 village. Sendai city is the capital of Miyagi with a population of 1096 thousand in 2021. The neighboring prefectures are Iwate Prefecture to the north, Akita Prefecture to the northwest, Yamagata Prefecture to the west, and Fukushima Prefecture to the south.
