Kagawa prefecture is located on the island of Shikoku, with the division of 17 municipalities including 8 cities and 9 towns. Takamatsu is the capital and largest city of Kagawa prefecture with a population of 414 thousand in 2021. The neighboring prefectures are Ehime Prefecture to the southwest and Tokushima Prefecture to the south.

• The 8 cities are Higashikagawa City, Kanonji City, Marugame City, Mitoyo City, Sakaide City, Sanuki City, Takamatsu City, and Zentsuji City.

• Kagawa is also a hub for various industrial sectors, including automotive parts, electrical and construction machinery, shipbuilding, metal processing, molds, chemicals, and primary industrial materials.
• Furthermore, Kagawa is Japan’s top producer of olives, and its nutrient-rich waters support the farming of nori and Japanese amberjack.
